Language - the primary method of human communication which involves words being exchanged in a systematic way.
Grammar - the system of rules and conventions which govern how words are used in a given language.
The English language is a beautiful thing. It is also beautifully complicated. Knowing the difference between a dependent clause and an independent clause can be tricky, and our English lessons no longer focus on these rules like they used to.
This is a shame because the more we learn about the rules of English grammar, the more we understand how words can be put together in interesting and meaningful ways. And, as with everything in life, the more we know about how something works, the more confident we become when using it.
This guide is designed to teach us the fundamentals of English grammar so that we can improve our written communication. It is by no means exhaustive, but it does provide a need-to-know introduction to how the English language works.
