Poem (verse) - a type of text which expresses feelings and ideas through careful language choices.
Poet (composer, creator) - a person who composes a poem for an audience to experience.
Listener (audience, reader) - the person who experiences a poem.
Poetic technique (poetic device) - a specific way for a poet to more effectively communicate meaning to the listener.
Speaker - the voice of a poem which the listener hears when a poem is recited.
Line - a single line of poetic verse.
Stanza - a number of lines of verse that are thematically linked (much like a paragraph of writing).
